The world is starved for heroes, and Spider-Man is one of the few good ones. As Peter sets off for a class trip to Europe, hoping for a romantic moment with sardonic queen MJ , he wrestles with whether to bring his suit. It’s a good thing Aunt May sneaks it into his suitcase, after a water monster levels Venice with Peter and his classmates in it.

It appears as though Fury subdues Beck and asks Peter who else he told about Beck, and he admits that he told MJ, Ned, and that Ned probably told Betty. This turns out to be another one of Beck's tricks, and now he knows to kill Peter's friends. He also puts Peter in the path of a train, which appears to strike him, but Peter is merely hurt really bad, and he passes out on the train. The class later heads out for the trip, with Peter choosing to leave the Spidey suit behind to enjoy his vacation, but he later finds that May packed it for him anyway. They are chaperoned by Mr. Harrington and Mr. Dell (J.B. Smoove), and are joined by other students, including Flash Thompson , who is still a big Spidey fan but also still dumps on Peter. On the plane, Peter tries to get Ned to help him switch seats so that he can sit with MJ, but Ned only causes Mr. Harrington to take Peter while MJ is seated next to Brad Davis , who is one of the kids that didn't get dusted and grew into a handsome athletic superstar.
Weekend Predictions: Once Upon a Time at the Box Office
The role was written for Smoove after the writers and director enjoyed his performance alongside Holland in an Audi commercial short film produced to promote Homecoming. Jonah Jameson of TheDailyBugle.net broadcasts doctored footage of the London incident in which Beck frames Spider-Man for the drone attack and his death before exposing Spider-Man's secret identity to the world, much to Parker's shock. In a post-credits scene, Fury and Hill are revealed to be the Skrulls Talos and Soren in disguise, under orders from the real Fury while he is away commanding a Skrull spaceship. It looks like June won’t end on a high note, as Toy Story 4 is falling faster than hoped for. The film earned $17.04 million on Friday, which is almost as much as the rest of the top five earned in total.
Quentin Beck, a super-powered individual, arrives to defeat the creature, and is subsequently recruited by Fury and Hill. In New York City, the Midtown School of Science and Technology completes its year, which was restarted to accommodate the students who previously disintegrated five years earlier as a result of Thanos' actions. The school organizes a two-week summer field trip to Europe, where Peter Parker—who is still mourning the death of his mentor Tony Stark—plans to reveal to classmate MJ his attraction to her. Happy Hogan informs Parker that Fury intends to contact him, but Parker ignores Fury's phone call.

While on a school trip to Europe, Parker will be drafted by Nick Fury to fight alongside Mysterio against monstrous giants known as The Elementals. From what we know about the film, it will focus heavily on Peter trying to live up to his late mentor Tony Stark. 3 comments"I have this memory of being a kid and wanting so desperately to be treated like an adult," director Jon Watts previously said of Peter's arc in the film. "And then there's one day, suddenly, where everyone does treat you like an adult and you start to think, 'Oh, I liked it better when I was being treated like a kid. Could I go back?' But by the time that happened, you're never allowed to go back."
However, and more importantly, it is 64% lower than the film’s opening Friday and that’s a sharper decline that I was anticipating. Granted, its $196.03 million running tally is in line with budget expectations, so it will break even, even if it doesn’t match expectations. Some time after Thanos was defeated and Tony Stark's sacrifice, Peter Parker returns to high school.

Fury hijacks the class's vacation by having his employee, Dimitri , act as a driver to their new and unexpected destination, Prague, as Fury and Beck have learned that's where the Fire Elemental is set to strike. Before heading out, Peter is taken by a tall woman sent by Fury to give him a stealth suit. She orders him to take off his clothes and put it on, but he is found by Brad, who takes a pic of Peter in what looks like a compromising position. Peter runs after him to get rid of the pic, but Brad says he knows that Peter likes MJ too, and he thinks showing her this will make her lean more toward Brad. On their trip, Peter finds Tony's high-tech glasses, EDITH (stands for "Even Dead, I'm The Hero"), which Tony left for his successor. Peter asks EDITH to handle Brad, which is misinterpreted as a request for an attack.

In early October, Jacob Batalon confirmed he would reprise his role of Ned in the sequel. By February 2018, Zendaya was slated to return for the film, reprising her role as MJ. Location scouting for the film began at the end of the month, as did the pre-visualisation process for the creative team to begin planning action sequences and visual effects for the film. By late April, Feige stated that filming was scheduled to begin in early July 2018, and would primarily occur in London. This was a change from the first film, which was mostly produced in Atlanta.

This included a progression where the creature goes from being upright and humanoid to bigger and more hunched over as it consumes metal throughout the sequence. The final battle was created by Imageworks, and consists of over 300 visual effects shots. In addition to creating the SUE—which required extensive effect simulations for the different combined elements such as "water tentacles", rocks, lava, and lightning—the company had to create a digital model of the Tower Bridge for the fight to take place around. The company attempted to fully render only small sections of the bridge where needed, but ultimately required around 80% of the bridge to be fully detailed due to how much of it is seen throughout the fight.

The industry needed this good news, and it doesn’t end there, as every other film in the top five either matched or exceeded expectations.More... After an early start in China, The Lion King expanded nearly worldwide earning $269.4 million in 52 markets for two-week totals of $346.0 million internationally and $537.8 million worldwide. According to Feige, the changes in the real world also meant that moving the character from a newspaper editor to a "radical right news journalist that kind of scream in front of the camera" made more sense. Simmons said he and Watts did not see "eye to eye" on the film's contemporary portrayal of the character versus his performance in Raimi's films. The Marvel honcho Kevin Feige has said that Far From Home marks the end of Marvel’s third “phase,” a story cycle that included 11 films. Whatever comes next for the franchise is mostly unknown, given that its two biggest stars (Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans) have now retired from the MCU.

This would have looked a lot more impressive had Endgame hadn’t set so many records earlier this year, but more on that in a bit.More... An alternate version of the film (titled 'The More Fun Stuff Version') was announced by Sony Pictures in June 2022 and was later released in September 2nd of that year. This alternative version had some additional, extended scenes and a new post-credits scene which weren't seen in the theatrical version of the film, taking the total runtime to 157 minutes.
Jonah Jameson in the mid-credits scene, marking the first time an actor has reprised a non-MCU role in an MCU film after Simmons portrayed a different incarnation of Jameson in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man film trilogy. Smulders learned about the twist from producer Kevin Feige shortly before the film's release. The Lion King finished on the very high end of expectations opening with $191.77 million topping the previous July weekend record by well over $20 million.

A few weeks ago, a 52% sophomore stint drop-off by a family film would have been a really bad sign; however, June was so bad that this result matches expectations, more or less. The film now has $236.92 million domestically and should race past $300 million here before it is done. This is a monster hit and more than enough to be profitable, but still disappointing.
Comic Book Reviews
Feige explained that one of the reasons behind this change in location was because a majority of the sequel would be spent around the world, outside New York City. The key to the new movie’s appeal, apart from the fact that Tom Holland acts with far greater confidence and verve in the title role, is that the entire film is a bit of a fake-out, and I mean that in a very positive way. There’s a good twist, and it’s totally central (I won’t reveal it), but what’s resonant about it is that it enables “Far From Home” to play around with the very issue of what matters in a superhero movie. Toy Story 4 was the top draw, but it fell faster than most family films do, down 51% to $59.70 million. Annabelle Comes Home had the weakest opening in the franchise, while Yesterday did well as counter-programming, but that’s all.
The jet work included the creation of a new Spider-Man suit, for which the vendor had to design the interior of the suit based on a scan of a practical costume they were given. They also made a Netherlands tulip field for a scene that was filmed in a grass field in the UK. Rising Sun Pictures created the holograms used by Mysterio when he first explains the Elementals to Spider-Man, which include simulations of black-holes and elements researched from real-world history and mythology. The company aimed for the holograms to have a similar quality to the ones that they had created for Captain Marvel. Mysterio was designed by Ryan Meinerding, Marvel Studios' head of visual development, to look like a combination of different Marvel heroes such as Thor and Doctor Strange. Sirrs described the character as a "larger-than-life showman at heart" and almost a superhero version of Liberace.
